Rabi-ul-Awal is the third month of Islamic lunar calendar whose importance is known to every Muslim. 12th Rabi-ul-Awal is that auspicious occasion on which the Islamic world was blessed with such personality who is the reason of creation of this universe. This month is considered as a blessed one because on the 12th of this month, our Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came to this world. He is the last Prophet of Allah who taught humanity the principles of life. Muslims consider it as their third EID after Eid-ul-Fitrand Eid-ul-Adha.
In Pakistan, the celebration of the Rabi-ul-Awalbegins at the start of this month and continues till the end of the month. Muslims show their love for this day by illuminating their houses with colorful lights and also put green flags in the streets and on the roofs of their houses. Sweet dishes like “Halwa” and “Kheer” are cooked by Muslim women thatare distributed from house to house to show their happiness and devotion for this day.There is a public holiday on this day. It seems that every person looks happy and thankful to Allah for His blessing.
Different celebrations take place throughout the Muslim world in this blessed month. Mehfil-e-Naat is also arranged in different areas of the country to show the love for beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH). Muslims celebrate this day by cooking sweet dishes and wearing new clothes. No Muslim can deny the significance of this day.
Rabi-ul-Awal is the month of blessings indeed because Allah Subhanahu Ta’ala blessed us with Prophet (PBUH) who showed us the right path and taught us the actual Islam. His birth has proved as a hope for hopeless and a source of light in the darkness of life. This is the month of immense charity,purity and blessings by Allah because He showered His blessings on all mankind in the form of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
This month activates the sense of harmony among the people. All the young, old and children celebrate this day with great joy and respect and wear new clothes to show their gaiety. Buildings, bazaars and mosques are illuminated. Seminars are conducted to induce the devotees to follow the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
12 Rabi-ul-Awal (Eid Milad-Un-Nabi) is a great source of preaching. It is duty of scholars to teach Muslim nation moral behavior, seerat, worship and antiquates of Holy Prophet (PBUH) on this holy occasion. Muslims from all over the world celebrate the birthday of Rehmatal-ul-Lil Aalameen (PBUH).
12 Rabi-ul-Awalfills the hearts of all the Muslims with enthusiasm and zeal and they arrange veritable gatherings throughout the month.
No doubt, it is the most remarkable event of the Muslim world. The Muslims also recite Darood-e-Pak in excess as a gift for Holy Prophet (PBUH). A special prayer is also to be offered this day. We must remember our beloved Prophet (PBUH) of almighty Allah and Milad-un-Nabi is the best way of remembrance of great prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
