Jahanara Memorial Trust (JMT) and Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) launched a state of the art Emergency Room (ER) today at the Fatima Memorial Hospital in Shadman. The launch took place amid a colorful ribbon cutting ceremony with the Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mr. Najam Sethi as e Chief Guest. The CM was accompanied by Chairperson JMT Mrs. Zareen Arif and Chairperson Central Executive Committee, Mrs. Shahima Rehman.
As a joint initiative by JMT and FMH, the Emergency Room is a great milestone for the Hospital and the Medical Community in Lahore. Initiated with a generous donation from JMT, Pakistan’s first fully equipped ‘ER Room of the Future’ has been developed based on international standards and best practices. Emergency and Critical Care at FMH provides treatment to all walk-in patients, regardless of their citizenship, status or ability to pay; with 24/7 on-call services in General Surgery, Obs/Gynae, Orthopedics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Rheumatology along with full facilities of Pathology and Radiology.
The launch ceremony was also attended by Minister of Health, Mrs. Saleema Hashmi, Principal FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry Prof. Dr. Humayun Maqsood, Hospital Director Prof. Dr. Arif Amir Nawaz, ER Director Prof. Dr. Asim Malik, Head of Departments, clinicians, faculty, donors, board members and friends of Jahanara Memorial Trust and Fatima Memorial Hospital, civil society organizations, health department officials and media organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Zareen Arif said: “To whom much is given, much is expected. God gave you many gifts, and it is important that you use them for others as best you can. This is a momentous occasion for JMT & FMH collaboration as both organizations share common goals and their relationship will create synergies to deliver greater patient satisfaction through high quality, affordable and efficient Emergency Care facilities in the region and beyond.” Mrs. Rehman and Mrs. Zareen heartily appreciated and thanked the generous support of donors and friends on the occasion. Caretaker CM Mr. Najam Sethi highly appreciated this endeavor of FMH and JMT and elaborated the need for strategic partnerships to bring a positive change in the healthcare industry.
