The inaugural Pond’s Miracle Journey gala, celebrating the miraculous stories of a 100 Pakistani women, was a fabulous night to remember.
The event, held at sumptuous Mohatta Palace, was the culmination of a year-long effort by Pond’s, the beauty brand, to recognize and applaud today’s high achieving woman. The Miracle Woman is defined as one who is not only managing a professional career but also bringing up her children, running her home and meeting all of the many social obligations that make demands on her time.
She is an expert in the fine art of the work-life balance, and she does all this with seamless ease and elegance. How many movements are there that celebrate women for their inner strength and appreciate them for what we often take for granted? The Pond’s Miracle Journey is one which will bring to the forefront a 100 women each year and celebrate their miraculous journeys in both personal and professional lives.

The movement started in March 2014 by introducing the Ten Miracle Mentors who were tasked to select 10 other high achieving women who would be the Miracle Women of the month. The Mentors were Anila Weldon, Atiqa Odho, Chef Shai, Maheen Kardar Ali, Rukaiya Adamjee, Saeeda Mandviwalla, Samina Peerzada, Shamaeel Ansari, Dr. Tasneem Nakhoda and Vaneeza Ahmed. Once all the 100 women had been identified, their detailed inspiring stories were recorded and brought to life at the Mohatta Palace Gala.
“Pond’s is a brand that celebrates the soft strength of women, their quiet resilience and elegant determinism. The Pond’s woman is thus a symbol of inner strength and outer beauty; she is a miracle in herself as she maintains her responsibilities while setting herself free to achieve her aspirations,” says Raheel Pasha, Director Marketing Personal Care Unilever Pakistan. “The Pond’s Miracle Journey is our small effort in celebrating these miraculous women who strike this beautiful balance effortlessly and make their families and their country proud of who they are and what they have achieved. Our aim is to continue to find such inspiring stories in our society and bring them to the forefront so that we can all realize and celebrate the inner strength and beauty that is symbolic of the Pond’s woman,” says Pasha.
