Pakistan’s international superstar Ali Zafar completed five years in Bollywood. Ali debuted in the Hindi film industry with the critically acclaimed Tere Bin Laden in 2010.
The 35-year-old versatile star marked this milestone in his journey with a tweet to his fans on July 17 where he shared the poster of his debut Hindi film and wrote: “5 yrs exactly today since my journey in B town started with TBL, a time when no 1 believed a Pakistani could make it (sic).” In a subsequent tweet, Ali went on to thank all those who believed in him and loved him and his work and said that this was the beginning only: “A big thx to all those who believed in me, liked/loved me. This is just the beginning! Aagay aagay dekho hota hai kya ;)”
After the critical acclaim and somewhat commercial success Ali and his film Tere Bin Laden garnered, the man donning many hats went on to star in more Bollywood films such as London, Paris, New York (2012), Chashme Baddoor (2013) and Total Siyapaa (2014).

He also made a guest appearance in Yash Raj Films Luv Ka The End in 2011, however his second commercial success came with a film by the same production banner, the legendary Yash Raj Films, with Mere Brother Ki Dulhan in 2011 where he starred alongside superstar Katrina Kaif and the talented Imran Khan. This film also won Ali not just one but two awards that year: the Superstar of Tomorrow Male at the Stardust Awards and the Best New Talent at the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards, cementing his position among the biggest names in the industry.
The successful singer actor, painter, producer has also rubbed shoulders and shook a leg with the best in Bollywood from the legendary Amitabh Bachchan to Salman Khan to Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Govinda to name just a few.

Ali’s last Bollywood outing Kill Dil co-starred the reigning stars Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra as well as the veteran superstar Govinda. Currently, the talented young actor is working on his first home production called Deosai that will be set in the northern areas of Pakistan in which he himself will be playing the lead character.
Ali does not only have some Bollywood films under his belt, but also a long list of awards and honours to boast. Besides the prestigious awards mentioned above, he has won three each Lux Style, MTV Style and Indus Music Awards and one each Asian Bollywood Music Award and ARY Film Award.
Ali’s charms and good looks have won him the honour of featuring in the Sexiest Man of Asia list in the UK’s premier British Asian magazine, Eastern Eye since 2006, with him topping the list in 2013. Other than that, Ali was ranked 19th Most Desirable Man by ittimes.com in 2010, and most recently, one of India’s biggest newspapers Hindustan Times in their style awards adjudged him the most stylist import for 2015 in both Mumbai and Delhi.
