Pakistan’s iconic fashion house, HSY, is set to showcase their Fall/Winter Couture 2017 collection via a solo show scheduled for December 2017 in Karachi.
Indeed HSY was among the select few pioneering fashion houses to first stage a solo show in Pakistan, with his solo debut in 2001.
“I am delighted to announce our 2017 couture solo show in the warm and wonderful city of Karachi; the city which stands as a major fashion force for the House of HSY. With our brands’ natural evolution and in line with the international fashion movement too, we believe in the strength and power of having our own shows in order to fully share the entire HSY experience; empowering our brand and giving its innate aesthetic more liberty to express its spirit. While this does mean we have therefore decided not to participate at any fashion weeks this year, we are delighted to come back full circle to the luxury and vision of a solo show and look forward to presenting our work on our own platform at the end of this year” said Hassan Sheheryar Yasin.
HSY’s Fall/Winter Couture 2017 collection will celebrate and showcase HSY’s signature handwork and present its evolution over the past 2 decades.
HSY is best known for combining contemporary silhouettes with the traditional techniques of old. The brand’s inspiration is distinctly Pakistani and Middle Eastern peppered with Western influences. Easily recognized as one of the biggest names in fashion in the region, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin is the fashion force behind the label and has been referred to as the ‘New King of Couture’ by Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
With over 20 years in the industry, Hassan himself holds an honors degree in Couture from the Pakistan School of Fashion Design, an affiliate of La ChambreSyndicale De La Couture Parisienne, France. Hassan is also one of the founding members of the PFDC and the recipient of multiple ‘Designer of the Year’ awards.
