Kabir Singh stirred up a lot of controversies and mixed reviews for its misogynistic approach. Some found the film extraordinarily amazing, while the others expressed their disappointment calling Shahid Kapoor’s character flawed. However, when it comes to acting, everyone agreed that the film belonged to Shahid for his portrayal of a wounded lover. Even the supporting cast displayed a great performance and bagged appreciation from the critics. However, Kareena Kapoor Khan holds a different opinion and she shared the same in a recent interview with Filmfate.com.
While answering a question on Kabir Singh and what it has done for the evolution of women in the Indian cinema, the Jab We Met actress criticised Kiara Advani’s role in the film and said that she doesn’t believe in a character like Preeti. She said that she hasn’t seen the film, and also added that it doesn’t affect anything because the movie has still made over 300 crores, but she does not believe in a character like that because she is not the same as a person.
Kareena also bashed the Shahid Kapoor starrer saying that it is great that people are voicing their opinions. Even though the movie has been a hit she is happy to see the reviews of the people who have pointed out their dislikes but are sadly outnumbered by the people who have loved the film.
Kareena has always been a promoter of women-centric films. Be it Heroine or Jab We Met, the actress has stunned us with her wonderful performance as the female lead and is soon to feature in Raj Mehta’s directorial Good News co-starring Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. She is also to be seen in Karan Johar’s Takht co-starring Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
