Taylor Swift is starting the new decade by ending one of her public feuds at the awards show that started it all.
After telling Vanity Fair in 2013 that “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women” in response to that year’s Golden Globes hosts, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, joking that she stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son, the singer joined Poehler on stage at the 2020 Golden Globes to present the award for Best Motion Picture — Animated.
While Poehler played up the tension, jokingly slamming Swift’s notion that they both “love animation,” the two supported one another through a bit that ended with Poehler admitting that she thinks animated films are made by “tiny mice during the night.”
While Poehler was immediately apologetic after hearing Swift’s Vanity Fair quote, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “I feel bad if she was upset.
I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl,” she and Fey joked about it during the next year’s Golden Globes: Fey congratulated Poehler on her win that night by saying, “I love you, and there’s a special place in hell for you!”
