Shamim Ara, an ace Pakistani actress and accomplished film director, lost her battle for life and passed away in London. She had been under treatment for quite sometimes.
It was in October 2010 that she suffered brain hemorrhage and was admitted to a Lahore hospital for treatment.
When her medical state did not show improvement, her family shifted her to London for specialized medical treatment. It has been reported that she was in a state of coma since 2014.
It was way back in 2010 that Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, then Prime Minister of Pakistan paid her a visit and lent financial support for her treatment, besides directing doctors to take extra care of the legendary actress.
During her younger years, Shamim Ara was known for some superb roles in movies which became hits and brought her considerable fame. she acted in over 50 movies and also won awards for her excellent performances in films.
