The renowned British retailer, Liberty, is making strategic moves to enhance its own-brand product offerings, with potential plans for dedicated standalone stores on the horizon. This ambitious expansion is expected to kick off with the introduction of a comprehensive beauty line, complementing its existing array of own-brand accessories, womenswear, menswear, and homeware collections.
According to reports from the Financial Times, Liberty’s CEO, Adil Mehboob-Khan, has confirmed the strong demand and popularity of the department store’s own-brand products, making them top-selling items. This success has fueled aspirations to take Liberty’s own-brand merchandise global.
Mehboob-Khan shared insights, stating, “There has been a substantial demand for Liberty’s brand to extend beyond our e-commerce platform.” This growing interest in Liberty’s own-brand products has sparked discussions about the possibility of establishing exclusive stores dedicated solely to these goods.
He further elaborated, saying, “Under the Liberty brand umbrella, we foresee the potential for physical locations. If this trend persists, there will be a clear demand and rationale for us to open our own stores featuring our branded products.” However, he emphasized that replicating the unique ambiance of the flagship Liberty store could be challenging, stating, “It’s very difficult to capture the enchantment of our flagship location elsewhere.
