As a director of dramas Humsafar and Shehre Zaat, Sarmad Khoosat made a name for himself and won compliments for wonderful direction. And added to that his abilities as actor, screen writer and director also won recognition from the Government and he was awarded the Pride of Performance. Besides all this, the performance given by him in Manto made him a living legend.
Recently Sarmad gave an interview to the media and during the course of the extensive interview he spoke about his association with the TV, the filmworld, his thoughts and even dreams. In this interview he highlighted the basic difference between TV and films. And he said “If I look back at my career, I have mostly done television. Manto was an accidental film. We wanted it to be a serial, initially. The content that Manto had was so strong that we felt, we might have to slack the gist of it if it was to be aired on TV. Cinema has that magic attached to it, TV doesn’t.”As regards his understanding of films, he stated that he was enlightened on the film philosophy by virtue of a comment from Muzzafar Ali who commented that “You don’t make a film, you live a film.”
While answering a question on his refusal to travel with Fawad and Mahira, his answer carried a light touch of wit. He said, when they were together, Fawad and Mahira got all the attention and he is left all to himself.
Regarding his future film making plans, Sarmad was clear and firm about them.He stated that he will start work on the film next year. Regarding his favourite heroines, he gave full marks to Madhri Dixit but at the same time passed on a huge compliment to Mahira Khan saying that she reminds him of Madhuri and Madhubala.
Talking of life in general and his own years, he said “I should have made more mistakes in my youth. I was extremely boring. Life should be lived freely and there should be no inhibitions.”
Pakistani actor and filmmaker Sarmad Khoosat opened up about his favorite movie star and said that he is a big fan of Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit.
