The Pakistan Film Industry made it to New York through participation in the first ever Pakistan Film Festival that became live on Friday night at the UN Headquarters. The stars of the film industry were there and so were many leaders of the film industry.
Red carpet carried a stunning touch and also there was United Nations Deputy Secretary General Jan Eliasson who complimented Pakistan for organizing the two-day festival. Many rated Pakistani movies are there for exhibition.
On the occasion of the opening, the UN Secretary General said “You have given life to this building. You have already conquered Pakistan, now you will conquer New York".
Pakistan’s Ambassador to UN Maleeha Lodhi has welcomed the celebrities while 193 members of different states were also invited in the event.
The leading Pakistani actors who attended the opening of the film festival included Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane, Nabeel Qureshi, Saba Qamar, Wajahat Rauf, Yasir Hussain, Sheheryar Munawar, Asim Raza, Tooba Siddiqui, Adeel Hussain and Sanam Saeed. Also there were Producer, Afia Serena Nathaniel and Mehreen Jabbar.
Two new films to be screened at the event in New York are, Dobara Phir Say and Lahore Say Agay. More films to be screened are Actor in law, Pakistan’s Oscar nomination, Mahe Meer, Oscar award winner Sharmeen Obaid’s animated film, 3 Bahadur, Dukhtar, Dance Kahani and Ho Mann Jahan.
Pakistani celebrities scorched the red carpet of the nation's first-ever film festival in New York with their head-turning appearances.
