The reports say that Rahat Fateh ali Khan was due to perform in Hyderabad in an event connected with New Year celebrations at Falaknuma Palace and as soon as Rahat sought clearance he was refused entry.The Immigration officials cited technical reasons as the reason.
As per law and immigration procedure ,nationals of Pakistan can only enter India through the assigned ports of entry,when the travel is by air. The ports of entry are Delhi,Mumbai,Kolkata and Chennai.
The concerned official stated that "in case a Pakistani National enters via any other airport, other than the four metros,his/her travel to Pakistan cannot be recorded.Hence it is mandatory that they stick to the four ports .This system has been put in place to monitor the movement of Pakistani nationals in and out of the country".
Indian media reports that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan,a legendary singer of Pakistan had to undergo the trouble of deportation when he arrived at the Rajiv Ghandi International Airport,Hyderabad.
