Passed away at the age of 48, the legendary singer blended eastern and western musical instruments, which later became his specialty as a qawali singer.
Apart from making incredible mark in Pakistani music, Nusrat also did music projects with music composer A R Rehman and film lyricist Javed Akhtar and reached out to western audience through his work with Peter Gabriel on the soundtrack of The Last Temptation of Christ in 1985.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Fateh holds the world record for the largest recorded output by a qawwali artist.
