Mohammed Shami has said claims of domestic abuse and infidelity made against him from a Facebook account bearing the name of his wife Hasin Jahan are a conspiracy. Hasin has now complained to the Police against her husband.
Mohammed Shami is in the soup for domestic violence. The Indian cricket team pacer, currently on duty for India A in the Deodhar Trophy, has allegedly cheated and tortured his wife of more than three years, Hasin Jahan. Shami has denied the allegations. The couple have a daughter born in July 2015. Probably for the first time the wife of a high-profile Indian cricketer took to social media to reveal her husband’s apparent misdemeanours.
Snapshots of conversations with several women were posted in Hasin’s Facebook page on Tuesday. The account has now been deleted. Shami’s wife has now lodged an official complaint with Kolkata Police. Hasin and her lawyer Zakir Hossain met police commissioner Rajeev Kumar on Wednesday evening.
Police officers refused to divulge details of the charges she has brought. Hasin had earlier said: “I’ve done everything he wanted me to do. He has tortured me & hasn’t treated me like his wife. He’s a big flirt. I’m not going to divorce him till my last breath. I’ve all the evidences & will soon drag him to the court.”
Mohammed Shami on Wednesday has reacted to allegations of domestic abuse and infidelity. Rubbishing the charges, Shami said it is nothing but a conspiracy to malign his name. “Ye jitna bhi news hamara personal life ke bare may chal raha hai, ye sab sarasar jhut hai, ye koi bahut bada humare khilap sajish hai or ye mujhe Badnam karne or mera game kharab karne ka kosis ki ja rahi hai (all these news reports about our personal lives are completely false. This is a big conspiracy against us and there is an attempt to malign me and harm my game),” the Indian cricket team pacer tweeted after the Facebook user, believed to be his wife, posted screenshots of conversations between Mohammed Shami and other women, accusing him of extramarital affairs.

Speaking to news channels, Hasin Jahan said she found messages on Shami’s phone that were proof of his dalliances with numerous women not all of whom were Indians. She said Shami stopped over in Dubai while returning from South Africa and was with another woman.
