The Supreme Court on Wednesday finally issued its verdict allowing model Ayyan Ali to fly for abroad.
Over the past many months the Pakistani model who was accused of money laundering has been seeking permission to go abroad. As her name was on the Exit Control List (ECL), this had become legally impossible.
The SC said in the verdict that the model could be allowed to leave the country to meet her mother. Ayyan Ali had claimed that her mother is under treatment in Dubai.
Ayyan was arrested by the Customs officials from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, in March on charges of smuggling US $500,000 abroad. Afterwards she remained held at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail till Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered her release.
