From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rekha, to Disha Patani, Sara Ali Khan and Tiger Shroff, take a look at the big Bollywood guest list from Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s reception.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s destination wedding was the stuff fairytales are made of. On November 15, the superstar couple tied the knot at Lake Como, and the high-security celebrations were only attended by their nearest and dearest. As the month progressed, however, the newly-weds made sure their larger circle of friends was a part of their milestone moment via three lavish post-wedding parties in India. While the Bengaluru reception was attended by the likes of PV Sindhu, the Mumbai celebrations brought together many special guests too.
And tonight, the couple ended their schedule of wedding celebrations on a high note, with a party that was attended by all their friends and well-wishers from Bollywood. When two of the industry’s most-loved celebrities come together, it’s a given that Bollywood’s biggest stars will be a part of their happy moment. There to congratulate Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh at their Grand Hyatt party were industry icons Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Hema Malini, Shatrugan Sinha and Jeetendra, along with the younger crew including Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Ishaan Khatter, Disha Patani,
Tiger Shroff, Radhika Apte, Jim Sarbh and Padukone’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani co-star, Kalki Koechlin. Other stars on the guest list included Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Vaani Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Sharma, Nimrat Kaur, Aditi Rao Hydari, Raveena Tandon, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Yami Gautam, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan. Who else did we spot walking into the couple’s big night? Think Barkha Dutt, Anupama and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Pinky Reddy, Lara Dutta Bhupathi and Sachin Tendulkar.
While Deepika Padukone looked beautiful in an embellished red Zuhair Murad gown (her first Western look since the wedding, complemented with open hair and an intense smoky eye), husband Ranveer Singh stood by her in a classic black tuxedo by Rohit Gandhi Rahul Khanna, accessorised with black-framed glasses. As for the guests, both saris and gowns won the stars’ votes. While Tandon, Mukerji and Apte went classic in black saris, Rekha stayed true to her collection of regal Kanjeevaram drapes and Disha Patani picked a silver gown for the occasion.
