Pakistan's iconic fashion designer HSY showcased his latest RANI collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2019 in Lahore.
Pakistan’s iconic fashion force, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin celebrates 2019 as his 25th year in fashion and one in which he comes full circle with the HSY brand.
Through his 25 years, HSY’s journey has been one with his mother; his guiding light as a strong icon of an empowered and empowering woman. In ode to their bond,
HSY’s PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2019 collection is titled ‘RANI’, his mother’s nickname and ‘queen’. For HSY, his mother represents a powerful, independent, free spirited and elegant woman; all beautiful traits that have always been central to the HSY design philosophy and that will be the focal point of ‘RANI’. Indeed RANI is also HSY’s tribute to the independent, strong and resilient women in the country, all of whom are queens in their own right.
Further, for the collection HSY goes back to his basics of designing, all patterns of which are hand-made. The collection is a manifestation of the brands’ pure design essence and is based in fabrics such as georgette woven out of silk yarn, predominately based in a monochromatic color palette ‘RED’; red because the colour has a special significance in HSY’s life as the first colour he saw when he got his sight back, 25 years back
