Teejays Collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Lahore 2011

Stunning model Sherebano Taseer opened the show for TEEJAYS showcasing their latest menswear and womenswear collection entitled ‘freedom: wear your man and your flag’ at the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Lahore 2011.

The collection was a spectacular outcome of distinct fashion aesthetics of two women, who relies on the beautiful simplicity of the outfit. The collection was a breathtaking amalgamation of Japan and our heritage.

The collection was all about going back to your roots that encompasses the rich traditions of the east for a global audience.  The collection was essentially menswear worn by women, where the philosophy was that women can wear menswear in a more feminine style.

The collection consisted of cotton with a mix of prints and solids designed in patches and spruced with pockets which than created a pattern in an outfit. The cuts were inspired by traditional ethos with a futuristic view such as the eastern gharara with pockets on the side become cargo ghararas and can be worn with the shirt tucked in as well as out.

Speaking about her collection the designer said “My inspiration behind this collection " is the meeting between Yoko Ono and Rukhsana Tanvir Jamshed (my mother)" both women have distinct style and have relied on the beautiful simplicity of the outfit; both represent the coolness of the east in fashion.”
