British and Indian Media Contradict Over Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone is among the young but successful stars of Indian movie world who has come up with accomplished performances in countless roles targeted for the silver screen with the prominent movies being Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Cocktail and Piku.

Lately she had the honor of appearing at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) 2016 wearing military green, a color that was categorized as a ‘Bollywood blunder’ by international media. In this connection, a leading British tabloid Daily Mail declared her the ‘worst dressed celebs’of MTV Music Awards. Earlier this same tabloid had called her tennis star Novak Djokovic’s “female companion”. Added to that the image that was published of her carried the caption “Indian actor Deepika Padukone may be stunning but her swamp green bralet and skirt combo did nothing for her sensational figure.”

The Mirror in its comments stated: “Indian film actress Deepika Padukone posed on the red carpet in what looked like a pair of giant dark green curtains as a skirt, a black sparkling bralet and huge chandelier earrings.”

As for the India publications the perception was entirely compliments loaded. One of their publications, Deccan Chronicle expressed total praise for her complimented looks and wrote “High slit trail skirt teamed with heavily embellished bodice and matching bomber jacket was DP’s look for the evening. And trust us, if looks could kill then she would be in prison now!

The leading publication, Times of India disagreed with the reaction and adverse comments of western media. Times of India considered the event a perfect place to show an edgy look. They further said “Many would find this look too edgy and out of their comfort zone, but let’s not forget it was a music awards event“.

Jaising posted Deepika’s image on Instagram and captioned it: “Military green is a functional and strong colour. Deepika is unstoppable, fit and fierce; making a perfect muse for my Artemisia Gown. I’m thrilled to collaboratively envision with Shaleena Nathani, and create this very special piece for Deepika Padukone for the EMAs.”
