Mahira Khan gives Response to India Blocking Pakistani Artists

Mahira Khan, the super artist from Pakistani TV who is on the verge of her Bollywood debut alongwith Shahrukh Khan in ‘Raees’, has finally responded to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan and how it has fallen hard on the artistes involved in Bollywood productions.

And she came out rather outrightly stating that, ‘I find myself getting increasingly upset at the abuse and hatred tossed from one border to another ‘.

This star of the TV in Pakistan has also been the subject of a ban placed by the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association on Pakistani artists from working in India. And the ban is expected to continue till the relations between the two governments These relations have become troubled after the Uri attacks.

Most of the Pakistani actors adversely affected by the development have opted to remain silent but Mahira has chosen to express her views by sharing a post of fellow Pak artiste Alizay Jaffer. The post of Alizay carries a personal account of her experiences during her time in India.

She has also made a mention of the friendships she continues to maintain with her mates who love her still the same. It has been shared that the understanding and afinity can be guaged from the fact that as Pakistanis they were forthright in always rejoicing when any movie of Ranbir Kapoor does well and another example given is that of praying for the health of Amitabh Bachan when he is unwell.

Another aspect touched in the post is about our attitude towards the West. We are always ready to please them, as our former lords and masters even though we know they have no love for us.

Alizay concludes her post by saying, "It is comforting somehow, that when I messaged one of my closest friends across the border, expressing concern over the destructive megalomaniac tendencies of our governments, he responded and said, ‘It doesn’t matter what they do, you know I will always love you‘.

It is comforting somehow, that in 20 years’ time, if you look away from the textbooks, and turn to your ancient scriptures or your holy books, it won’t take you long to see that since time immemorial, there is only one message they are trying to convey, only one message we should be paying attention to; and that message is love."
